  • Underwriting Grant - De-risk your event or performance (between £500-£1000)
Performances and exhibitions are exciting and notable events for the whole community and a great way to showcase talent and inspire others. However, for many charities, societies and community groups, such events can pose a financial risk. Our underwriting grants enable organisations in Elmbridge to run events with the security of knowing they are protected against poor box office takings. How the Underwriting Grant works We agree to underwrite the difference between the lowest estimated box office takings and the total cost of your event / performance. The amount to be underwritten is agreed before the event takes place, but the sum of the final grant that is actually paid depends on actual ticket sales. Who can apply? Any Elmbridge-based or arts-related organisations, orchestra, societies, performers, musicians, choirs, etc. planning a traditional venue-based performance or exhibition, with the potential of making a profit (no matter how small). Requirements: We ask organisers to demonstrate an intention of making a profit. We also need to see details of the total expenditure for your event, estimated maximum potential box office takings and the estimated minimum expected box office takings. We do not use Trust grants to help arts organisations make a profit. For more information about how an underwriting grant could help your event, please get in touch.
